Growth Marketing Manager (Remote US) in Remote (US): the complete guide

Everything below is written for this specific listing — the market it sits in, what the week really looks like, how the pay band works, how to prepare, and where the role leads afterwards.

Why this Growth Marketing Manager (Remote US) role exists

Cobalt Systems is a Technology & IT company of 450 people, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Austin, United States. Cobalt builds identity and access governance software for banks, insurers and hospital networks. The product grew out of a consultancy practice, so the team stays unusually close to compliance realities rather than designing in the abstract. The team hiring here is based in Remote (US), and the post is full-time on a remote basis.

Read the responsibilities as a symptom list. "Own paid acquisition (Google, LinkedIn, industry press) to CAC target" sitting at the top of a growth marketing manager (remote us) brief usually means that area is currently being done badly, late, or by someone who should be doing something else. At senior level you will set direction inside your area, mentor others, and be judged as much on the decisions you prevent as the work you produce.

Commercial teams are hiring for measurable pipeline contribution. Budget scrutiny means the roles that survive are the ones tied to revenue with a clean line of attribution. Remote (US) sits inside that picture: The US market rewards specialisation. Salary bands vary hugely by metro — a role in San Francisco or New York can pay 35-45% more than the same title in the Midwest, though cost of living usually absorbs the difference.

A week as a Growth Marketing Manager (Remote US) at Cobalt Systems

Because this growth marketing manager (remote us) role is remote, visibility has to be manufactured deliberately: short written updates, clear handovers, and a habit of surfacing blockers early rather than absorbing them quietly.

Most of the week goes on own paid acquisition (google, linkedin, industry press) to cac target, with direct ownership of a paid acquisition budget of $1M+ per year work threaded through it. The part nobody advertises is upkeep — the fixes, follow-ups and small corrections that stop last quarter's work from quietly rotting. In a 450-person technology & it company that upkeep lands on the person closest to the work, which here is you.

The measure in year one is influence: whether the standard of growth marketing manager (remote us) work around you is visibly higher because you arrived. Whatever the plan, the 6+ years B2B SaaS growth, ideally in security or infrastructure expectation is the one that will be reviewed first.

Where the hours go in this Growth Marketing Manager (Remote US) role

  • Core delivery — own paid acquisition (google, linkedin, industry press) to cac target
  • Applied 6+ years B2B SaaS growth, ideally in security or infrastructure work and problem-solving alongside the wider team
  • Review, handover and coordination with the people who depend on this role
  • Maintenance, fixes and improving what already exists
  • Planning, documentation and keeping current in marketing & sales

What $145,000 – $180,000 plus equity really means here

The advertised range is $145,000 – $180,000 plus equity, a spread of roughly 24% between floor and ceiling, with a midpoint near USD 162,500. In most structured pay systems the midpoint represents someone fully performing the role, the floor someone growing into it, and the ceiling a candidate who arrives with directly transferable, hard-to-hire experience — in this case, depth in 6+ years B2B SaaS growth, ideally in security or infrastructure.

The national average across advertised United States roles is $96,000. That number includes every city and every seniority, so treat it as a floor check rather than a benchmark — what matters is what growth marketing manager (remote us) work pays in Remote (US) specifically, and what your cost of living there will be.

Let Cobalt Systems name the figure first where you can. If pressed, quote a range whose floor you would genuinely accept and whose ceiling you can justify with a specific 6+ years B2B SaaS growth, ideally in security or infrastructure outcome you delivered.

Beyond base pay, always confirm

  • Bonus or commission structure, and whether it is discretionary or formulaic
  • Pension or retirement contribution and the employer match under United States rules
  • Health cover, including dependants
  • Paid leave, public holidays and any carry-over policy
  • Equity, if offered — the vesting schedule matters more than the headline value
  • Equipment, home-office allowance and which country your payroll actually sits in

Who gets hired as a Growth Marketing Manager (Remote US)

Shortlists for a role like this usually come down to five or six people who all meet the stated requirements. Evidence separates them. The strongest applications bring a decision you made that was unpopular and correct, and how you brought people with you, described plainly and without inflation.

Claiming team results as personal results is the fastest way to lose a commercial interview. Be specific about your own contribution versus the team's, before you are asked.

The requirements list is a wish, not a gate. If 6+ years B2B SaaS growth, ideally in security or infrastructure and direct ownership of a paid acquisition budget of $1M+ per year are genuinely yours and the rest are learnable, apply and say so directly in the first line of your cover note. Recruiters respect a candidate who names their own gap before they are asked about it.

Preparing for the Cobalt Systems interviews

Rehearse out loud, not in your head. A senior-level growth marketing manager (remote us) interview in Remote (US) is largely a test of whether you can explain a decision clearly to someone who was not there.

Research Cobalt Systems specifically. Documented, security-conscious and calm. On-call is compensated and capped, and every incident produces a public write-up within five working days. Then connect it to Remote (US) — what the local team is likely dealing with day to day matters more than the corporate description.

Questions worth preparing for

  • Why this Growth Marketing Manager (Remote US) role at Cobalt Systems, and why now?
  • Walk me through your experience with 6+ years B2B SaaS growth, ideally in security or infrastructure.
  • Tell me about a time own paid acquisition (google, linkedin, industry press) to cac target went wrong. What did you change?
  • Tell me about a decision you got wrong and what you do differently now.
  • Who do you go to when you are stuck, and how early?
  • What would your first ninety days in Remote (US) look like?

Working for Cobalt Systems across borders

Remote does not mean location-irrelevant. Employment law, tax residency and payroll follow where you physically sit, and for a role advertised out of Remote (US), those details are settled before the contract is signed rather than after.

Most employer sponsorship happens through H-1B (cap-subject, annual lottery), L-1 intracompany transfers, and O-1 for exceptional ability. Green-card sponsorship is common for senior healthcare and engineering roles.

For this specific listing: US-based candidates only. Fully covered family health cover, compensated on-call cross-team support and annual conference budget.

Confirm the time-zone overlap expected, who pays for equipment and desk space, and whether the contract is a local employment contract or an employer-of-record arrangement. Those three answers change the offer more than the headline number does. Get the answers in writing before you resign from your current role — especially anything specific to Remote (US).

Where a Growth Marketing Manager (Remote US) role leads next

A senior-level growth marketing manager (remote us) in marketing & sales typically has two credible paths after two to four years: deeper specialisation, where 6+ years B2B SaaS growth, ideally in security or infrastructure becomes the thing the organisation relies on you for, or breadth, where you take on scope across more people and more surface area.

Choose before you accept, because the first eighteen months in a growth marketing manager (remote us) seat quietly decide it for you. A useful interview question for Cobalt Systems: what does someone need to demonstrate here to be promoted out of this role?

Cobalt Systems operates in Austin, Remote (US), London, which matters for a growth marketing manager (remote us) if internal mobility or a future move out of Remote (US) is part of your plan. Ask how often people actually transfer between those offices — the honest number is usually lower than the brochure suggests.
